A new NYT Strands puzzle appears at midnight each day for your time zone – which means that some people are always playing ‘today’s game’ while others are playing ‘yesterday’s’. If you’re looking for Friday’s puzzle instead then click here: NYT Strands hints and answers for Friday, October 3 (game #579).

NYT Strands today (game #580) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #580, are…
- JEWELRY
- SHIRT
- SPOON
- MAGNET
- KEYCHAIN
- POSTCARD
- SPANGRAM: SOUVENIRS
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
I have a problem when it comes to SOUVENIRS. I can’t stop myself from buying them.
Whenever I am on vacation or visiting somewhere new I have to buy a KEYCHAIN or a POSTCARD or MAGNET. In the past my list of trinkets would extend to an ashtray, so I could stub my cigarettes out on an image of the beauty spot I had so recently admired (I have since quit smoking and purchasing ashtrays).
And back in the day I’d also buy a SPOON for my grandmother, whose house was filled with racks of them, mainly from places she’s never been, fighting for wall space beside framed pictures of the Queen (spoons and the Queen were her thing).
Anyway, I digress. I found today’s search strangely compelling and easy, hopefully I wasn’t the only one!
